When girl-next-door becomes sex bomb!
There seems to be a role reversal of Bollywood stars. While the sex sirens are becoming mellower, the girls-next-door are getting bolder.
The girls in Bollywood are throwing one surprise after another. Mallika Sherawat , the irrefutable sex bomb of Bollywood, is not ticking anymore. Gone are her cleavage-flaunting days. What’s here is Mallika wrapped in yards of clothes for her movies like Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam and Ugly Aur Pagli .
But the excited seekers needn’t fret. Now, blank left by Mallika is filled by none other than girls-next-door.
Who could have imagined that Soha Ali Khan would one day shed her image, let her hair down and strike provocative poses in sexy lingerie for a magazine. With the photoshoot, Soha not just caught film fraternity and her fans unaware, she also shocked her protective brother Saif Ali Khan who did not mince words in expressing his disapproval of Soha’s photographs.
The interesting thing is to note Saif’s reaction which was a complete opposite when his size-zero squeeze Kareena Kapoor donned an eye-catching bikini for the first time in the Yashraj film Tashan . While Kareena is no girl-next-door, it can be safely said that she is no sex bomb either. But Saif found her “hot” and so did many others. It’s all in the eye of the beholder, as is rightly said.
Talking about Yashraj Films , it seems to have made a strategy to have a token bikini appearance by actresses in their films. Bipasha Basu (a certified bombshell) did it in Dhoom 2 . Aishwarya Rai (an attested beauty) came close but didn’t go beyond teeny-weeny shorts. Kareena began a new national debate with her frail, hourglass figure in a wet bikini. And now, Amisha Patel (another girl-next-door), has followed suit and dropped her jeans and salwars for a superhot bikini in a song in the upcoming YRF presentation Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic .
No wonder, no one’s missing Mallika these days.
There are new girls on queque as well – the likes of Shveta Salve (don’t miss her stills) and Sangeeta Ghosh, who are knocking people over with their dare-bare attitude after doing the adarsh bahu kind of roles in television serials. From saris to bikinis is a big leap .
Now, Mallika and Rakhi can bow out.
